Mega Battery Pack Daughter Board¶
Description¶
While the WiPhone uses the ESP32 processor, which doesn’t have an efficient sleep mode when connected to WiFi, the standard battery life may not be as long as desired. That’s where the Mega Battery Pack comes in—offering extended battery life to keep your device powered for much longer.
The Mega Battery Pack is designed around an IP5306 multi-function power management SOC. The pack installs on the back of the phone and acts exactly like an external power bank, but you don't need a cable since it's connected through the daughterboard headers. It also has an external USB port capable of charging an external device simultaneously with the WiPhone.

Hardware Overview¶
IP5306 Powerbank SoC¶
IP5306 is a fully-integrated multi-function power management SoC. It integrates a boost converter, a Li battery charger management system, and a battery state of charge indicator controller. It provides a turn-key solution for power bank and portable charger applications.

IP3005A Battery Protection IC¶
The IP3005 series IC is an ultra-high-precision single-cell lithium ion /Lithium polymer battery protection chip, it has built-in power MOSFET , allIntegrates ultra-high-precision overcharge voltage, overdischarge voltage, overdischarge current,Overcharge current detection protection circuit.

Note
Due to shipping restrictions, we are unable to ship the Mega Battery Pack with the battery installed. The JP904580 Lithium-Polymer Battery Cell is an example of the cell we used to test the Mega Battery Pack daughterboard. Users can purchase any LiPo cell that fits within the size specifications of 9.0×45×80 mm (Thickness × Width × Length) and solder it to the daughterboard.
Danger
- Do not work around the LiPo cell or modify this PCB unless you understand the risks of working with LiPo cells.
- Stop using the device if the cell becomes larger, the foil pouch is damaged, or any electrolyte leaks from the pouch.
